Thanksgiving Turkey Drive

The Kiwanis Club of Barre holds a fundraiser each year to be able to donate turkeys to local food shelves, churches, and community outreach programs.

Kiwanis invites community members to speak to our Barre Kiwanians on a regular basis. The speakers provide information about community programs, projects, and needs. The Kiwanis Club of Barre supports our community in many ways

Our Kiwanis club raises funds for Key Club college scholarships every year.

Key Club Sponsorships

Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentorships and provide college scholarships for Spaulding High School Key Club students. We provide one Voc-Tec Senior and One Key Club Senior with a $1000 scholarship.

The Kiwanis Club of Barre hosted the Forty-Third Annual Honors for Scholars on the evening of
Tuesday, April 9th , 2024 at the Elks Club of Barre.
Twenty-nine students of the qualified group for the Pro Merit Society by maintaining an
accumulative average of 3.0 for seven semesters, attended the event.
Each student was honored with a certificate and an academic pin. The students were treated to
dinner; parents and family also attended. The guest speaker for the evening was Beth Bicknell,
retired Spaulding High School administrative assistant.

Diaper Drive

Randy Treis, Paula Dolan and Margaret Ferguson (taking photo) delivered
25 packages of diapers (1300 diapers) and 2 packages of wipes to the
Hedding Methodist Church Diaper Depot on June 14, 2024. The Kiwanis
Club of Barre held a diaper drive starting in mid-May to mid-June.

Barre City Municipal Swimming Passes

The Kiwanis Club of Barre has purchased one Season Pass to the Barre municipal pool and is available to the public through the Aldrich Library. The procedure is to check out the Pool Pass like a book and return it so someone else can use it.

Location: The City of Barre Municipal Swimming Pool is located at 59 Parkside Terrace, Barre, VT 05641.  The pool is adjacent to Playground 2000 and is near entry points to the Barre City Bike Path.

Regular Hours:

Monday – Friday

  • General Swim: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Family Swim: 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM
    • In order to stay for family swim, individuals must be high school students or accompanied and supervised by someone 18 years of age or older.
  • Saturday – Sunday
    • General Swim: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
